Since we first met with Andrew, we have received fantastic support from TUKF and have enjoyed attending the many events which they have sponsored, including the Symposium at Buckingham University, the event at Portcullis House & the visits by United In Britain members to participate in the Democratic Tours of the Palace of Westminster, we have in reality been a grass roots campaign with members from across the UK attending these fantastic events which you have helped make happen.
When we formed the United In Britain | No! Cymru Campaign, we did it as it became crystal clear that there was an awful lot of one-sided misinformation being spread across Wales, it was in many ways completely untrue, designed to give credibility to their campaign to Break Up Britain, and take Wales down a dangerous path of isolationism and reduced freedom of expression, with a crackdown on anyone who disagreed with their views.
There was a lack of focus by the Pro UK Parties as they just saw much of what was being said as misguided, lacking any credibility, and in many cases simply untrue. Although the ‘independence cabal’s’ lack of vision & false arguments were ‘founded on sand’, they were trying to convince people across Wales that we were receiving a raw deal, when in reality nothing could be further from the truth.
The main Separatist Party Plaid Cymru was failing to make progress, outside their heartlands, hence they decided to form a separate campaign, to drive their #Separatist Agenda, however this became riven by internal divisions, with their Central committee resigning amidst threats & harassment. Many simply walked away due to the malign influences of hard left idealogues, which resulted in many articles coming to public attention.
It became increasingly clear that we needed to counter these false arguments being perpetrated by the Separatists, and hence we decided to form a counter campaign, and then United In Britain | No! Cymru (No to Separation) was born. Like a Phoenix, it rose from the ashes, with no financial backing. We had a website built, started getting leaflets produced, along with stickers, mugs, badges and clothing.
We then designed the membership packs, stunning membership cards, and the ‘four nations’ prize draws which are complimentary to members at Christmas. We have been told by members that the membership packs look like they come from a large corporate entity, with high quality information being received, but we are absolutely grounded with our founding principles of honesty & integrity.
The United In Britain/No! Cymru (No To Separation) movement is currently involved in producing a high-profile campaign to counter the forces of Welsh Separatism. For many years, the so called ‘Yes Cymru’ organisation has been trying to create opposition to Cymru-Wales’s place in the democratic United Kingdom – by fostering a sense of Welsh grievance and advancing the idea that Wales’s problems can be solved by becoming a breakaway, one-party republic.
Much of their campaign is driven by their dislike of England (despite some of their Directors being English born) along with Anti-monarchism being at the heart of the Separatists anti-UK message.
The key reasons we launched the growing United In britain | No! Cymru organisation, is to challenge the nonsensical Separatist arguments, that by detaching itself from the UK Treasury, Wales will somehow be economically better off – with more ‘freedom’. The reverse is true, but more importantly the Separatists – far from offering a vision of Welsh identity, language and folklore (the early original view of the early Welsh nationalists), the present-day movement is resolutely Woke, Metropolitan and fiercely radical-left in its outlook.
Many of the more ‘hard line elements within the Separatist Campaign have stated that they want a ‘hard border’ with passport control, and some even want a ‘wall’ erected with customs checkpoints, this was said by some of their members off camera.
With United In Britain branches, small units (so far) and many active spokespeople on social media platforms, such as X, we are offering Wales a positive vision of freedom, multi-party democracy and national identity – within the United Kingdom, which has an honoured place for all who cherish our values.
